<dc:description>This paper examines the meaning of the expression «proventi a la lor natura»in the poemFermamenteintensa, vv. 30-31, allegedly attributable to Bonagiunta Orbicciani da Lucca. In the stanza involving «proventi a la lornatura» the poet makes a comparison between the behaviour of snakes and that of the noble and honourable men who rule the society. The interpretation of the stanzatherefore entailsthe correct understanding of why noble men and snakes are connected. The analysis takes also into account linguistic featuresthat maycontribute to underpin the alleged authorship of Bonagiunta for the poem.</dc:description>
