In the period of 2006, from 7th March to 7th April, took place in Nassirija, in the south of Iraq, an archaeological mission within the "Iraq Project: the Virtual Museum of Baghdad", organized by CNR with the funding of Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the collaboration of Italian Defence Ministry. The équipe was composed by dr. Silvia Chiodi, head of the expedition, first researcher of CNR, scientific responsible and coordinator of the Iraq Project, by Mr. Mauro Mazzei, surveyor and expert of topography, and by prof. Giovanni Pettinato, full professor of Assyriology at University of Studies of Rome "La Sapienza". The mission's purpose was that, to effect topographical surveys of three archaeological sites: Ur, Eridu and Obeid able to increase the visual heritage of archaeological objects processed on webpage and presented on connection with the excavating site which they come from. The partial survey of these three sites obtained remarkable results for the same project and for the decay situation of archaeological sites because of security lack in this area: the first has been discovered in the middle of Ur a big black angular stone, with inscription of Ur-Namma with the title "the man who built the temple of Nanna"; the second has been found in the surface of the tell of Eridu clay bricks inscriptions, most of Amarsuena, some not deciphered until now.
