The contribution provided by the research unit to the project SUPER-GEO "SUstainable and high-Performance Retrofit and Rehabilitation of existing structures using GEOpolymers" will be related to the realization of structural and thermal insulating panels for internal walls of building with fireproofing and breathability properties and fine aesthetic characteristics. The research unity will be also in charge of the characterization of the chemical and thermal stability, thermal and structural properties in correlation with panels composition and structure. Thermal insulation properties can be tailored by producing geopolymeric panels with a hierarchical porosity (from nano to ultra -macro dimension), while sandwich structures can be used to improve structural performances. Decorative layers can be applied on the external skins of the sandwich panels in order to give a nice-looking aspect. These decorations can be realized in mosaic (tessellata or sectilia) made with indirect technique that permits to obtain a mosaic assembled surface ready to set up.
