A new version of the LNS portable PIXE-alpha system is presented. This version allows to perform measurements on small dimension (few millimeters) details of artefacts. By the use of a He flux it is possible to reduce the air absorption of low energy X-rays and to evidence the presence of light mass number elements as well as of silver patina thanks to the Ag L-lines detection.
