Abstract
How should the general public and members of political and economic institutions behave in the promotion, evaluation and use of knowledge and, more specifically that of science? We must surely admit that the ideal of a completely autonomous scientific community is not 'feasible'. The science community is not isolated from society and from public opinion. At the same time a society which is informed in a knowledgeable and critical way in accordance with the values of a true epistemology, is capable of recognising and respecting the value of the autonomous, cognitive authority of the scientific community. This book seeks to give some empirical answers to several questions regarding the relationship between communication, understanding and the public's perception of important themes related to technical-scientific development.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
