Per un futuro sostenibile

The organization of the book is the following. First we will briefly review the phenomena and problems that characterize a development that many consider unsustainable. We will then consider how we got to this point: namely, what are the causes (who and what). This will be the theoretical part, that will analyze the answers, which, as we will see, are in conflict with each other. We will then wonder how you try to solve the problem, and we will examine the remedies that are proposed on the basis of what are believed to be the causes. The last part of the book will concern the individual responses, from voluntary organizations or other non-official but concrete responses. We will close with a conclusion, perhaps a little ambitious, which addresses the relationship between ethics and development.

L'organizzazione del libro è la seguente: come prima cosa ci chiederemo perché si parla di sviluppo insostenibile, quali sono i fenomeni e i problemi che fanno sì che si ritenga di essere in presenza di un tale tipo di sviluppo; tenteremo cioè di fare una rassegna molto sintetica, ma dando anche qualche cifra, di questo tipo di problemi. Poi passeremo a chiederci come siamo arrivati a questo punto: cioè quali sono le cause (chi e che cosa) per cui siamo giunti, senza accorgercene prima, a quello sviluppo che molti ritengono insostenibile. Sarà questa la parte teorica, con l'analisi delle risposte date: risposte che, come vedremo, sono in conflitto tra di loro. A partire dal dato e dalle analisi delle sue cause ci chiederemo come si tenta di risolvere il problema; quindi esamineremo i rimedi che vengono proposti sulla base di quelle che sono ritenute le cause. Infine, un'ultima parte sarà quella delle risposte individuali: che cosa si muove nel mondo del volontariato o comunque nel campo delle risposte di tipo non ufficiale ma concreto. Chiuderemo con una conclusione, forse un pochino ambiziosa, che riguarda il rapporto tra etica e sviluppo.
