This is the second internal report of the work package 3.1, on its way towards the deliverable 3.1.1, the specification of a reference architecture for AmI environments. In this report, we aim at deriving the functional architecture of PERSONA based on the findings from the first report (the state-of-theart report) and a technical analysis of the PERSONA use cases. The functional architecture in this report remains at the level of identifying the functional building blocks and their relationships without the specification of interfaces, protocols or ontologies. After this step, we can move towards the deliverable 3.1.1 by adding those specifications.
