Abstract

Ecological Engine is a Java library which allows to develop and run algorithms for performing Ecological Modeling experiments. The term Ecological Modeling indicates a set of functionalities for managing complex phenomena in order, for example, to predict the impact of climate changes on biodiversity, prevent the spread of invasive species or disease, help in ecosystems conservation planning. The Ecological Engine allows to dynamically add new algorithms as plug-ins. The algorithms can be executed as sequential or multi-thread computations.
