Whoever at sea sights a pollution by oil or hydrocarbons will be able to immediately report the event to the Laboratory of Signals and Images SI-LAB (si.isti.cnr.it) of the Institute of Science and Information Technologies of the Italian National Research Council (CNR-ISTI) in Pisa, allowing the realization of a detailed map of the health of our seas. This information will be recorded in the Marine Information System (MIS) produced by CNR, able to collect data relating to critical and health issues of the sea from various sources (satellites, optical sensors, electronic noses, autonomous underwater vehicles, systems and geo-GPS geolocation ) and integrate and generate predictive models to assist the authorities in the management of emergencies. The application, in Italian, English and Greek, for smartphones (Android v2.1 or higher) with GPS, developed by CNR-ISTI within the European research project ARGOMARINE (www.argomarine.eu), is an easy to use tool designed for anyone, that for any reason, sail the seas. Allows you to send reports of suspected spills to the CNR specifying the precise point, severity and a description of the spill.

Chiunque avvisti inquinamento da idrocarburi in mare potrà segnalare immediatamente l'evento al Laboratorio Segnali e Immagini SI-LAB (si.isti.cnr.it) dell'Istituto di Scienza e Tecnologie dell'Informazione del Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR-ISTI) di Pisa, consentendo la creazione di una mappa dettagliata della salute dei nostri mari. Tali informazioni saranno registrate nel Marine Information System (MIS) realizzato dal CNR, in grado di raccogliere dati relativi a criticità e salute del mare provenienti da varie sorgenti (satelliti, sensori ottici, nasi elettronici, veicoli sottomarini autonomi, sistemi di geolocalizzazione e geoposizionamento), di integrarli e generare modelli previsionali per assistere le autorità preposte nella gestione delle emergenze. L'applicazione, in versione italiana, inglese e greca per dispositivi smartphone (Android v2.1 o superiori) con GPS, sviluppata dal CNR-ISRI nell'ambito del progetto di ricerca europeo ARGOMARINE (www.argomarine.eu) è uno strumento facile da utilizzare pensato per chiunque, a qualsiasi titolo, solchi i nostri mari. Consente di inviare le segnalazioni di sversamenti sospetti al CNR specificando punto preciso, gravità e descrizione dello sversamento.
