The project MAGIE (Multidimensional Approach and Gender Input For Euromed Destination Management) aims at improving the effectiveness of regional policies for sustainable tourism development, in particular for some Euromed destinations: Campania and Apulia in Italy, Pieria in Greece and Andalusia in Spain. The project creates a Mediterranean network for the design, sharing and transfer of innovation, knowledge and best practices. The partnership is made by local administrations of the 4 involved sites, universities, research centres, chamber of commerce networks, network of woman entrepreneurs. Project objectives are: the improvement of destinations policies, the sustainability of destination development and the promotion of entrepreneurship and business creation. Expected results are a efficient network among the 4 involved regions with a common culture of hospitality and a common tourism policy; a higher environmental awareness of local stakeholders; a higher efficiency in tourism firms management; the rise of competitiveness of involved destinations.
