L'archivio dei dati dell'IRPPS

The management and data storage activities are under the responsibility of the IRPPS service of "processing information and data bank". As has already been exposed in many other technical reports (see WP 7 / 2005 and WP 8 / 2005), the main objective of the service is to support the research and, more generally, management of the Institute. In particular, the service usually manages technology infrastructure and the IRPPS web site, but also stores our data (that data produced by the same Institute or acquired from Istat and/or international institutions). This paper can also be considered as a kind of guide that helps the researcher to find data and also the information that is required for data utilisation. The paper also includes the presentation of the IRPPS's interface to data bank, which comes from the need to offer to all the users an easier management information data system.

Le attività di gestione e archiviazione dei dati rientrano nelle competenze del servizio "Elaborazioni informatiche e banche dati" dell'IRPPS. Come già più volte è stato esposto in altri rapporti tecnici (vedi WP 7/2005 e WP 8/2005), l'obiettivo principale del servizio è quello di essere principalmente di supporto alla ricerca e più in generale alla gestione dell'Istituto. In particolare il servizio oltre ad occuparsi dell'infrastruttura informatica e del sito dell'IRPPS provvede alla gestione e alla archiviazione di dati in nostro possesso (dati prodotti dall'Istituto stesso, dati acquistati presso l'Istat e istituti internazionali). Questo lavoro può essere visto come una sorta di guida che aiuta il ricercatore a reperire i dati e le informazioni necessarie al loro utilizzo. Il lavoro contiene anche la presentazione dell'"Interfaccia all'archivio dati dell'IRPPS" , che nasce dalla necessità di offrire agli utenti un sistema informativo gestionale dei dati facile da utilizzare.
