The pourpose of this study is to evaluate the mechanical and calorimetric properties of several pseudoelastic commercial archwires used in the straight-wire low-friction techniques. The investigation techniques concern mechanical tests in the configuration of 3-poin-bending for the assessment of the forces expressed by the archwires during unloading and calorimetric analysis by differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) to obtain information of the microstructure of the alloys. We tested both NiTi and NiTiCu archwires with different geometries. For all the wires we found an excellent repeatability of the results.

Abstract
The pourpose of this study is to evaluate the mechanical and calorimetric properties of several pseudoelastic commercial archwires used in the straight-wire low-friction techniques. The investigation techniques concern mechanical tests in the configuration of 3-poin-bending for the assessment of the forces expressed by the archwires during unloading and calorimetric analysis by differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) to obtain information of the microstructure of the alloys. We tested both NiTi and NiTiCu archwires with different geometries. For all the wires we found an excellent repeatability of the results.File in questo prodotto:
