This report describes the results of the activity carried out within the collaboration between Alenia and the Institute for Information Processing of the Italian National Research Council in Pisa, in agreement with the statements of the contract regarding the technical requirements of the CANDIA research, on the theme "Densitometric features computation". In particular, with specific reference to the NDT prototypical system developed at IEI Lab, this report describes the software procedure implemented for segmenting the US diagnostic images on the basis of their texture characterisation and processing.
