This report describes the results of the activity carried out within the collaboration between Alenia and the Institute for Information Processing (IEI) of the Italian National Research Council in Pisa, in agreement with the statements of the contract regarding the technical requirements of the CANDIA research, on the theme "Reference to CAD Files". In particular, this record describes the design criteria and the programming solution used to implement the logical and physical connection between the database of the NDT prototypical system developed at IEI Lab and CAD files containing structural information about an object (material and/or component) stored in the database itself.
