The Appraisal Step carried out by the SSA 14 is described in this report. Particularly, this SSA is simulating the mussel culture in Taranto in order to "Include mussel culture in a management plan for the sustainable use of the Mar Piccolo resources". The aims of this simulations are to provide information about the environmental conditions, and measures and costs needed for sustainable mussel growth. Furthermore, the effects on human health, deriving from the exposure to hazardous levels of contaminants or micro-organisms controlling mussel growth would be also tested. Several blocks of the model have been rewritten and updated. The major problems, related to the lack of both ecological and socio-economic data, have been gone over by using information from literature. Some blocks from ecological model (Phytoplankton) and from Socio economical model (Budget Cooperative, Budget Consortium/District, CBA WWTPs, CBA Park and CBA Ecological Health) will be included in SPICOSA Library. The ESE model, linking mussel growth and harvest with the socio-economic model, was implemented as to perform a simulation for three significant years in relation to the mussels decline data as to evaluate and compare properly the simulation data with the observations.

Abstract
The ESE model, linking mussel growth and harvest with the socio-economic model, was implemented as to perform a simulation for three significant years in relation to the mussels decline data as to evaluate and compare properly the simulation data with the observations.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
