A computational study of the propeller inflow of a tug-boat and of a fishing vessel is described. The two test-cases are those considered under the SUPERPROP Project. Propulsion test simulations are performed for two different operating conditions at model scale and at full scale. Numerical results are then compared to those from flowfield simulations of the unpropelled hull to characterize the inflow to the propeller. The theoretical and computational methodology is described and results of flowfield predictions are presented and discussed. The activity is performed in the framework of Work Package 2 of the SUPERPROP Project.

Abstract
A computational study of the propeller inflow of a tug-boat and of a fishing vessel is described. The two test-cases are those considered under the SUPERPROP Project. Propulsion test simulations are performed for two different operating conditions at model scale and at full scale. Numerical results are then compared to those from flowfield simulations of the unpropelled hull to characterize the inflow to the propeller. The theoretical and computational methodology is described and results of flowfield predictions are presented and discussed. The activity is performed in the framework of Work Package 2 of the SUPERPROP Project.File in questo prodotto:
