The International Conference "Nanostructured Materials" belongs to a series of Conference initiated in 1992. It's held biannually under the auspices of the International Committee on Nanostructured Materials composed by 18 world-wide recognized scientist working in the field. Previous NANO conferences were held in Cancun - Mexico (1992), Stuttgart - Germany (1994), Kona - Hawaii, USA (1996), Stockholm - Sweden (1998), Sendai - Japan (2000), Orlando - USA (2002), Wiesbaden - Germany (2004), Bangalore (India) (2006), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) (2008). The conference NANO2010 was held in Roma, Italy, in 2010. This conference is the traditional meeting place for most Nano-materials researchers, where the state-of-the-art research and latest advanced findings are presented. Purpose of the Conference The field of nanostructured materials is moving toward several directions. NANO2010 was the highest level International Conference designed to bring together the international community of scientists and engineers interested in recent developments on nanostructured materials. It has fostered the exchange of ideas, techniques, experiments and applications in this exciting and rapidly developing field. In particular, it has provided a forum for the presentation and discussion of new concepts, properties and developments on new science and novel materials in the nanoregime, new nanofunctional materials, applications in nanoelectronics, nanobiotechnology, devices and sensors. All original contributions have been arranged in the form of plenary, keynote, invited, oral and poster presentations, with four parallel sessions dedicated to specific thematics.
