The results of the test programme performed on the sailing yacht 1:3 scale model C.2421, of the America's Cup Class (ACC) are presented. The tests were performed to determine the TH17A sailing yacht hydrodynamic characteristics in calm water towing conditions. The model belongs to the latest generation of hulls designed for the America's Cup 2003 PRADA Challenge, in order to choose the best hull to race. The experimental technique used is the so called partially restrained model. The model is free to heave and pitch, but restrained in the other motions. The test programme consists of Appended Upright Tests and Appended Heeled and Yawed Tests to compare two triplanes configurations, which consist of two rudders, the second one being lodged at bow. A third configuration was tested, that is the stripped version of the second triplane.

Abstract
A third configuration was tested, that is the stripped version of the second triplane.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
