Towing-tank resistance and self-propulsion experiments are presented for the 1:12 scale model submarine C.2384. The tests were performed to compare the hydrodynamic characteristics in deeply submerged conditions between the original propulsive configuration and an alternate "advanced stern-planes" configuration in combination with a modified version of the propeller. The 6-component balance Remmers R-62 for submerged bodies was used in the experiments. The new configuration has shown very promising results.

Abstract
Towing-tank resistance and self-propulsion experiments are presented for the 1:12 scale model submarine C.2384. The tests were performed to compare the hydrodynamic characteristics in deeply submerged conditions between the original propulsive configuration and an alternate "advanced stern-planes" configuration in combination with a modified version of the propeller. The 6-component balance Remmers R-62 for submerged bodies was used in the experiments. The new configuration has shown very promising results.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
