The interest in respect of jet propulsion in the 80s pushed the committee HSMV ITTC to start defining some guidelines as a basis for forecasting methodology "ad hoc". With the Project N 2.1, INSEAN proposed the objective of conducting systematic experimental investigations to define experimental methods of testing model and develop "software" processing of the experimental data to the full scale predictions. This report presents the results of the tests performed, with flow measurement through the water jet and measurement of the typical propulsion parameters: pump rotation rate, thrust and torque. The full scale predictions are performed both according to the ITTC procedure and with an alternative methodology that considers the global system hull-propeller only in its entirety. The comparison between the two methods appears promising.

Abstract
The comparison between the two methods appears promising.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
