Feeding habits related to age of Lithognathus mormyrus (Osteichthyes, Sparidae) were investigated. The specimens analysed for age and size classes, were captured by the artisanal fleet of Selinunte (S/W Sicily), from May '98 to May '99. Amphipoda and Polychaeta are main food for the youngest specimens. The biggest specimens present a wide food spectrum, moreover move their predatory interest to other categories such as Echinodermata and Mollusca.
