Here the weakly nonlinear hydrodynamic solver described in Colagrossi et al. (2007), is validated against model tests for a C2364 model without and with forward motion and in regular and irregular head-sea waves. The validation concerns both global quantities, i.e. rigid motions and added-wave resistance, and local variables, i.e. occurrence and features of water-on-deck phenomena. The occurrence of slamming events is also discussed, on the basis of the numerical simulations which involve the criteria reported in Greco et al. (2007) and Colicchio et al. (2006).
