The results of the test programme performed on the sailing yacht 1:3 scale model C.2450, of the America's Cup Class (ACC) are presented. The tests were performed to determine the TH30A sailing yacht hydrodynamic characteristics in calm water towing conditions. The model belongs to the latest generation of hulls designed for the America's Cup 2003 PRADA Challenge, in order to choose the best hull to race. The experimental technique used is the so called partially restrained model. The model is free to heave and pitch, but restrained in the other motions. The tests are the repetition of Appended Upright Tests on the model fitted with the mobile appendages configuration that became the reference one, i.e. "trim tab" T3, rudder R2 and bulb with winglets. Since the ultimate goal is to produce a performance merit list among hulls even with small mutual differences in shape, the accuracy of the experiment also reached values up to 0.5%.

Abstract
Since the ultimate goal is to produce a performance merit list among hulls even with small mutual differences in shape, the accuracy of the experiment also reached values up to 0.5%.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
