Innovation governance is the "establishment of policies, and continuous monitoring of their proper implementation, by the members of the governing body of an organization" in the area of innovation management. Policies for innovation governance have been the subject of Work Package 2. The scope of this deliverable is the information systems perspective of methodologies and tools supporting innovation monitoring. The importance of monitoring and of balanced performance measuring systems is witnessed by the vast and impacting literature in management control. Innovation monitoring however is considered a complex task, for reasons spanning from human factors to the unstructured and uncertain nature of innovation processes and related information. The present deliverable reports on solutions devised to support this complex task. It presents methodologies and tools to provide the BIVEE system, and in particular the Virtual Innovation Factory (VIF) sub-system, with functionalities for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) management. In particular, the deliverable defines the procedures for computing the innovation related KPIs that are used to monitor activities performed inside the VIF and presents the KPIExplorer, a tool for OLAP analysis. Somewhat related to KPI monitoring, we also analyze the criteria for KPIs evaluation, i.e. for the definition of proper benchmark values against which to compare enterprise performances. This result provides information to complete the development of the present version of the Innovation Monitoring Framework. The deliverable also proposes solutions for the advanced analysis of innovation processes capable to deal with the unstructured and human-centred nature of innovation. In particular it discusses a novel Process Mining methodology for the discovery and analysis of activity patterns that frequently occur in collaborative innovation processes, and the adoption of Social Data Analytics to gather insights about the structure of the social network created by the community, possible innovation trends and stakeholder's perception of enterprise's activities.
