Route planning services for mobile users still lack a full support of real-time traffic monitoring for the evaluation of delays, lost connections and accidents. This paper presents TRIP (Transport Routing Information Platform), which is born in this context and whose two main functionalities are routing and the support of real-time control of the status of the public transport network. Such supervision is based on localization devices installed on public transport vehicles, so that the system can determine significant delays, determine which users are actually affected by such traffic conditions and consequently notify them possible variations of routes.

Abstract
Route planning services for mobile users still lack a full support of real-time traffic monitoring for the evaluation of delays, lost connections and accidents. This paper presents TRIP (Transport Routing Information Platform), which is born in this context and whose two main functionalities are routing and the support of real-time control of the status of the public transport network. Such supervision is based on localization devices installed on public transport vehicles, so that the system can determine significant delays, determine which users are actually affected by such traffic conditions and consequently notify them possible variations of routes.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
