The present report summarizes a parametric analysis of the performance of a ducted propeller. This activity is addressed in the framework of two EU-funded research projects aiming at understanding and enhancing ducted propellers performance when they are used as propulsive systems or as seabed escavation and cleaning machines. This kind of analysis is intended as a preliminary guideline for the definition of the propulsor/escavation system main geometrical parameters that can be modified in order to enhance efficiency/jet effectiveness without increasing the required power.

Abstract

The present report summarizes a parametric analysis of the performance of a ducted propeller. This activity is addressed in the framework of two EU-funded research projects aiming at understanding and enhancing ducted propellers performance when they are used as propulsive systems or as seabed escavation and cleaning machines. This kind of analysis is intended as a preliminary guideline for the definition of the propulsor/escavation system main geometrical parameters that can be modified in order to enhance efficiency/jet effectiveness without increasing the required power.
