Abstract

The feasibility of implementing the SuperB machine with beam-lines in order to exploit synchrotron radiation is shown, on the basis of the available public documents on the machine, highligthing advantages and disadvantages of this choice. This short note is the result of a working group appointed by the Italian Society of Synchrotron Radiation (SILS), and it wishes to constitute a contribution of users and collaborating research groups to this aim. The availability of low emittance and very high current densities is a clear advantage, which however poses new challenges in terms of front-end and optics development. The necessity of planning the machine together with synchrotron radiation experts isstrongly suggested in the following phases of design and development.
