The activities consist in bare hull resistance sea-keeping tests in head and following sea conditions in irregular waves at 20 knots, one displacement and corresponding longitudinal trim. During the runs, corresponding to a full scale observation of 30 minutes, the following quantities have been measured: resistance, heave, pitch, CG vertical acceleration, bow and stern accelerations, observation of numbers of slammings and water on deck phenomena. By considering the region of sea interested, we have chosen a JONSWAP spectrum with a sea state equal to 4. We have selected the average value for the wave conditions as suggested by the NATO STANAG 4154 (Edition 3) "Common Procedures for Sea keeping in the Ship Design Process".
