In this report the activities carried out in the framework of WP5 are summarized. The goal of this work package is to develop and evaluate numerical solutions in order to simulate wave field, wave breaking, risk of air capturing and convection, and wake around a ship. Several numerical tools among those at DGA Hydrodynamic (Bassin d'Essais des Carènes) and INSEAN-CNR disposal will be evaluated. Based on this state of the art evaluation, new methods will be implemented and new solvers based on the Smoothed Particles Hydrodynamics (SPH) approach will be developed in cooperation in order to overcome previous solver limitations. The realization of this Wok Package remain an great challenge, because of the complexity of the flow to predict : multiphase flow, high vorticity, convection... Comparisons will be performed with results obtained with a RANSE solver coupled with a level set approach for free surface simulations. Validation will be carried out by means of available data in the scientific literature and using measurements from WP6.

Abstract
Validation will be carried out by means of available data in the scientific literature and using measurements from WP6.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
