IPS e apprendimento

This project falls under the wider theme on learning to learn and focuses on the specific aspect of Information Problem Solving (IPS). seen as the process that ranges from the recognition of and focus on a formative need to the retrieval and selection of information needed, to its integration and processing into personal knowledge. The context is of the general type though ICT and specifically web-based environments prevail due to their ever increasing role of information mediators. The project resumes a research work started in 2002-03 and aims to: -enhance the comprehension of cognitive skills and behaviours that are likely to affect the progression and results of IPS processes, both on line and on site; -design learning programmes both for students and for teachers to foster the development of some specific skills and to support effective uses of the Web a an IPS environment.

Questo progetto si inserisce nella più ampia tematica dell'apprendere ad apprendere e ne affronta un aspetto specifico, quello dell'information problem solving (IPS), inteso come il processo che va dal riconoscere e chiarire un bisogno informativo, al localizzare e selezionare le informazioni necessarie, all'integrarle e rielaborale in sapere personale. Il riferimento è in particolare, anche se non esclusivamente, a situazioni in cui la costruzione di conoscenza è mediata dall'uso di TIC, e segnatamente dal Web come strumento mediatore sempre più pervasivo di accesso all'informazione. Il progetto, che riprende un'attività di ricerca iniziata nel 2002-2003 e poi interrotta, si propone di: -migliorare la comprensione delle competenze cognitive e degli atteggiamenti che sembrano condizionare lo svolgimento e l'esito di processi di IPS (in rete e non); -elaborare proposte didattiche, rivolte sia a studenti sia ai docenti, progettate per favorire lo sviluppo di alcune delle competenze individuate e per sostenere modalità produttive d'uso del web come ambiente di IPS.
