This present research project has been aimed at the preparation of a series of new Ru(II)-tetrazolate complexes and, jointly with the ISTEC Institute of the National Research Council (CNR), to their incorporation in the structure of DSSC-type solar cells. The design of the new Ru(II) tetrazolate complexes has relied on the variation of the core structures of two well-known sensitizers, namely N719 and N749. This modification has been pursued with the substitution of the metal coordinated thiocyanates (SCN-) with the appropriately functionalized tetrazolate-based ligands. The synthesis and the characterization of the new complexes, together with the evaluation of the performances of the corresponding DSSC-type cells are reported and discussed herein.

Abstract
This present research project has been aimed at the preparation of a series of new Ru(II)-tetrazolate complexes and, jointly with the ISTEC Institute of the National Research Council (CNR), to their incorporation in the structure of DSSC-type solar cells. The design of the new Ru(II) tetrazolate complexes has relied on the variation of the core structures of two well-known sensitizers, namely N719 and N749. This modification has been pursued with the substitution of the metal coordinated thiocyanates (SCN-) with the appropriately functionalized tetrazolate-based ligands. The synthesis and the characterization of the new complexes, together with the evaluation of the performances of the corresponding DSSC-type cells are reported and discussed herein.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
