Fresh sediments in road construction: After a preliminary characterization of different dredged sediments collected along Navicelli canal, about 800 m3 of selected sediment was dredged and disposed in a basin inside Navicelli area. The samples were collected at about 0-20 cm through the use of a shovel. Around each of the 8 selected sampling points, 5 sub-samples were collected, homogenized and mixed together in order to obtain one sediment sample for each point. Agriport sediments in plant nursery: The Agriport sediments were collected at 0-30 cm and 30-60 cm by drilling a hole vertically into the surface using a soil core sampler with an inner diameter of 5 cm and length of 20 cm. Each sediment samples consisted in the mix and homogenization of three samples randomly collected in each container.
