"EMPHASYS" European Documentation and Management Platform for Historic Architecture thought Decision Systems and Strategies The research specific aim is to set up an innovative approach to the documentation and conservation of architecture heritage by means the integration of digital tools for documentation and for decision making in choosing technologies for maintenance and refurbishment of buildings of significant historical and cultural value, taking into account integrity and authenticity of the different historical and environmental contexts and historical layers of cultural heritage methods of construction in Europe. The advantage that the proposal provides with, in line with the Heritage Plus aims and topics, is to develop and to validate a set of sustainable strategies, innovative methodologies, technologies and processes components starting from building dimension but having historic districts as a dimension to address. The proposal wants to cope with the need to find adequate solutions taking into account the cultural heritage of Europe's cities, that is one of Europe's strategic goals. As indicated in the Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) of JPI CH and GC, tackling refurbishment of historic buildings is one of the Top 12 Priority Research Areas. EMPHASYSIS will create a platform, to share in Europe, with the aim to bring together academics, heritage professionals, and industry leaders in preservation, consolidation and retrofitting technologies to test and improve the benefits that the integration of a Historic Building Information Modeling (HBIM) and a web-based Decision Support System (DSS) may offer to record and manage Cultural Heritage Sites
