The aim of this document is to provide a synthetic overview on the different trends and challenges from the food and manufacturing solutions sectors, based on the existing strategic and technological intelligence produced by the two sectors, using the knowledge and expertise of work previously undertaken (i.e. the SRAs and multi-annual Roadmaps from both platforms and existing EU-provided knowledge base, like HighTech Europe, TRUEFOOD, NovelQ, etc.). The result of this short analysis is represented by a complementary exercise aiming at identifying a series of proposed key research and innovation areas. They will correspond to common or complementary themes starting from the ones already identified during the preparatory work for this project.
