Net-Challenge - D5.1 Demonstrators specification

The Net-Challenge project defines a framework based on a set of methodology, reference processes and decision support tools to drive the creation and maintenance of Business Communities, which in turn are the enabler of the formation of Virtual Organizations started after identified Business Opportunities. Such a framework was built on both a solid theoretical base and on the observation of three reference business cases, namely Textile, Footwear and Machine tools. The Demonstration activities, specified in this document, is the phase of the Net- Challenge project aimed to test and validate such a framework, applying it to real cases taken from the actual scenarios which characterize each of the involved industrial partners. The Demonstration has been designed in order to represent a realistic case of application of the new concepts, practices and tools proposed by Net-Challenge. For this reason, the industrial companies involved in the project have been asked to propose three specific scenarios which could represent their typical business opportunities. These are based on real past experiences and chosen among current perspectives, having in mind the fundamental needs and open problems that the Net- Challenge framework addresses. The prime driver for this identification has been the need and the value of cooperation among organizations, aimed at the more effective and efficient achievement of quality results.
