Work Package 3: Technical Solutions for Sustainable Energy in Historic Urban Areas Task 1: Desk-based Study: The list of consulted sources developed in the early stages of WP2 will be re-visited and expanded during the identification process, recording all examples of building and community-level interventions in or appropriate to historic urban areas. Reference will be made to relevant IEE projects (e.g. New4Old) as well as initiatives relevant to this field such as HQE2R and SUIT, and to the online resources of sustainable energy technology manufacturers and suppliers. The study will include good practice from EU member states that have high activities in this field (e.g. Germany and Austria). Potential RUE and RES applications in historic buildings and communities will be listed and examined to introduce best practice examples of such applications. Solutions would be identified according to whether implementation was at the community scale or building scale, the number and different types of partners involved in proposal development and implementation, and any positive or negative experiences encountered in implementation that should be taken into account by the SECHURBA consortium
