The project started approximately one month before the Kick off Meeting. The first steps have been dedicated to a deeper knowledge of expertises and competencies among the partners, in order to better harmonize the project work. Technical and clinical partners started to interact for accomplishing the tasks reported in the DoW. Teleconferences, mails and telephone calls have been the main instruments to interact and monitor the project progress and needs. Some technical meetings among few partner for specific task activities have been carried out. The Web site (first release) has been set up on time even if the potentiality of this instrument has not completely explored and used (sharing writing and written documents). Two technical deliverables (D3.1 "Users" Requirements Analysis" and D4.1 "BioMEMs detailed specifications) have been released as scheduled together with the Quality Plan of the project (D1.10). A large dissemination work on the project has been initiated not only in Italy (country of coordination) but also at international level. Some initial technical work has been presented and will be presented to international and national conferences. It is worth to mention a first journal publication.
