Venice is a city which expresses an extraordinary capacity of posing questions and requiring answers to science. This volume collects some of these. They are useful for the management of the Venice lagoon system, but they are not limited to it, since they refer to topical issues and have a broader utility. Climate change is also a global concern. In lagoon systems, the effects of climate change bring measurable increasing of vulnerability and they are reflected both in physical and biological matrix.
