The main proposal of the ETLAT project is to improve the knowledge on state of the art of towed arrays performances and consequently to develop specific tools to estimate the hydrodynamic and acoustic performances. The present document reports the activities performed by CNR-INSEAN as preliminary study, the so called "Part I". They foresee the design and realization of the towing system (catamaran and winch), the implementation of the wireless link, the execution of towing performance tests and the design of the data link cable between the TLAs and the submerged body.
