It is well known that telecommunication systems operating at frequencies higher than 10GHz are strongly affected by attenuation phenomena due to rain fields. Accurate descriptions of atmospheric impairments are then very useful to select the best technique for counteracting this mitigation effect. In this work, an ARX-based identification technique is proposed for modeling the rainfall dynamics directly from radar-collected data. This method compensates the lack of spatial and temporal data and it can be easily implemented for real-time prediction purposes.

Abstract
It is well known that telecommunication systems operating at frequencies higher than 10GHz are strongly affected by attenuation phenomena due to rain fields. Accurate descriptions of atmospheric impairments are then very useful to select the best technique for counteracting this mitigation effect. In this work, an ARX-based identification technique is proposed for modeling the rainfall dynamics directly from radar-collected data. This method compensates the lack of spatial and temporal data and it can be easily implemented for real-time prediction purposes.File in questo prodotto:
