This report describes all the activities carried out under le project LIFE+ "Low cost sorbent for reducing mercury emissions- SOREME" (LIFE11 ENV/IT/000109) over the period between 01/01/2013 and 31/12/2014. The present project aims at demonstrating the use of a innovative sorbent obtained from a pyrolytic process of wasted tyres, demonstrating its capacity of adsorbing mercury. Briefly, the aims of SOREME project are: i) to optimise and demonstrate the functioning of the pyrolytic plant (action B1) and of the innovative sorbent continuous production (action B2); ii) to carry out many different tests of mercury absorption at laboratory level (action B3), semi-industrial level (action B4), and at industrial level (action B5).
