The event's various levels will include: o an international conference having the most important sector representatives as guests. Main theme will be the development of the sea economy within the Mediterranean basin. It will especially focus on needs in security and safety levels and on those of a basin "smart community"; Program o pre-organised B2B meetings with selected foreign companies based on the requests made by participating companies; o talk-session series focusing on specific subjects (bilateral international relations, diffusion of innovation, etc.); o a programme for the diffusion of science and innovation addressed to students - from primary school to University - focusing themes linked to the sea (ecology, investigation, technology, etc.); o a national and international context among ideas and products of young people attending secondary schools and universities on the subject of marine and submarine investigation (ROVs, sensor devices, etc.), with performances and evaluations carried out by experts belonging to world of industry and research; o a dense schedule of side events organised within SEAFUTURE 2012 by PoloDLTM and by such territorial Research Institutes as ENEA, ISMAR-CNR, INGV, and CSSN. The regional Pole for research and innovation in sea technologies and the marine environment made itself available to La Spezia EPS, the Special Agency of the Chamber of Commerce, for the organisation of such side events and especially as far as the coordination of scientific contributions and the involvement of schools and universities are concerned.

In questa edizione, anche una sezione dedicata alla educazione e divulgazione scientifica: I segreti del mare spiegati ai più giovani. A condurre gli studenti del comprensorio spezzino di elementari, medie e superiori alla scoperta delle meraviglie marine saranno i laboratori allestiti a SeaFuture dagli enti di ricerca nazionali che alla Spezia hanno sede - Cmre, Cssn, Enea, Ingv, Ismar-Cnr - dal polo universitario 'Marconi' e dal Distretto Ligure delle Tecnologie Marine. Gravimetri, magnetometri, microscopi, modellini, Rov 'SeaPerch', apparecchi per la rilevazione acustica, filmati in 3D e tanti sofisticati strumenti che i ricercatori usano nella quotidianità, saranno a disposizione dei giovani per fare della scienza un'indimenticabile esperienza pratica.
