The SSHOES project addresses the development and demonstration of new sustainable production capabilities for diabetic feet such as innovative robotized milling solutions for footwear and insoles components. To achieve this result, a specific software package has been realized to help the order management and planning, to organize and manage resources for a footwear production plant, as well as to dispatch specific CAM and production information.SSHOES Factory Platform is a software tool aimed at the management, organization and scheduled dispatching of production orders to shop floor automatized production facilities. Handled production orders range from single component manufacturing - addressing last and insoles - to the entire shoe production. Target production facilities include particularly robotized cells and milling units. The software performs the automatic retrieval of information and data related to pending production orders from central order repository - the so called SSHOES Register - by means of specific authenticated web services. Information retrieved is structured internally and stored locally, exploiting the concept of production orders, composed of several production lots. Abstract

The assembly department of MV line was characterized by a large number of operations and related different workposts (semi-automatic and fully automatic). The wide range of mosquito net products - both in terms of basic raw material and of framing systems - had a huge impact on production, given the fact that different products with different sequence of operations shared both equipment and resources. This resulted in a complex manufacturing plant, whose engineering and optimization requires the capability to assess the impact of single choices in advance. Starting from the Simio tool, the work focused on the development of a library of dedicated machines components and sw functionalities, capable of creating realistic simulation and identifying bottle necks, as well as on dedicated functionalities for data processing. Therefore for this project the following items have been implemented: ? a Simio model for the department of the roller mosquito nets ? tool for db pre-processing data and post-processing simulation log Innovative software features can be classified as: ? Dynamic discrete event simulation ? Pre-processing software tool that, starting from the company DB data populates the Simio model ? Post-processing software tool to generate report from Simio
