The NIFS - R&D Negative Ion Source is a Multi - cusp source with a pair of filter magnets, of inner size 700 mm (Height) x 350 mm (Width) x 230 mm (Depth). It has been constructed during the R&D for the NIFS Negative Ion Beam Injectors, and it is now used for investigation of beam formation physics. Negative - ion (H - ) rich plasmas are generated in beam extraction region in Cs seeded plasma. They are contaminated with electron diffused from driver region by appl ying beam extraction field. One of the objectives of the present research at NIFS is to investigate the charged - particles dynamics further. To this purpose, the following measurements are taken: Ho and H - temperatures, Detailed distribution of charged part icles and its response to electric field, flow of electron, positive and H - ions. In the framework of the bilateral agreement between CNR and JSPS, Consorzio RFX contributes to the set of measurements with the installation of a diagnostic calorimeter "mini - strike" for the measurement of the beam power and the beamlet divergences and steering. This report describes the joint experimental campaign carried out in June and July 2015 with personnel from Consorzio RFX Padova.
