The present manual constitutes a first aid to using the code CAOS, developed during the activity in the Project. The code allows the determination of characteristic parameters of nonlinear and chaotic dinamyc systems through the analysis of an observable of the system. After a brief description of the considered method and implemented algorithms, the various routines forming the program are presented, pointing out the data structure employed. Then the input and output files are described and examples of use are reported with some tables and plots obtained with the code.
Il presente manuale costituisce un primo supporto per l'uso del codice CAOS, che consente la determinazione di parametri caratteristici di sistemi dinamici non lineari e caotici attraverso l'analisi di una variabile osservabile del sistema, sviluppato nel corso delle attivita della Unita Operativa CNR/ICE/GE. Dopo una breve descrizione del metodo considerato e degli algoritmi irnplementati sono presentati i vari moduli che compongono il programma, evidenziando la struttura dati utilizzata. Sono quindi descritti i files di input e di output e sono riportati esempi di utilizzo corredati da alcune tabelle e grafici prodotti dal codice.
