This deliverable refers to WP3 of the Project. Such WP is devoted to realize and test a sensorised electrospinning head for the multi-jet electrospinning with its monitoring strategy and to develop stochastic models of the electrospinning process. The proposed solution is to measure electric variables (and the current related to the polymer flow has been identified as the most interesting variable) during the process. In addition, a high resolution video is acquired to observe the emitted jet. Alternative signal processing is considered, to extract features better correlated to the actual conditions of the emitted jet, the process stability and the nanofiber morphology (absence of defects). An appropriate Design of Experiment (DOE) has been performed and implemented to define the experiments for data collection. Finally, the static part of stochastic model will be developed to correlate process parameters with process stability and nanofibre morphology. The model is aimed to optimise process parameters to obtain desiderated nanofibre properties. In this Deliverable the design of the sensorised multi-jet head is reported.
