The objective of Task 1 is to review the use of single- and multi-spectral SAR data for the retrieval and/or mapping of the following bio-/geo-physical parameters: Forest biomass, Water body, Agricultural Crops, Crop biomass, Soil moisture, Sea ice. The survey starts reviewing those methods based on single-wavelength SAR data and then it is extended to those exploiting multi-wavelength SAR data. In the review, the uncertainty, the limitations and performances obtained in the retrieval as a function of SAR measurements are highlighted. The scope is to select existing or propose novel approaches particularly suited to exploit the opportunistically available time series of multi-spectral SAR data for improving the retrieval and mapping of the identified bio-/geo-physical parameters.

Abstract
The objective of Task 1 is to review the use of single- and multi-spectral SAR data for the retrieval and/or mapping of the following bio-/geo-physical parameters: Forest biomass, Water body, Agricultural Crops, Crop biomass, Soil moisture, Sea ice. The survey starts reviewing those methods based on single-wavelength SAR data and then it is extended to those exploiting multi-wavelength SAR data. In the review, the uncertainty, the limitations and performances obtained in the retrieval as a function of SAR measurements are highlighted. The scope is to select existing or propose novel approaches particularly suited to exploit the opportunistically available time series of multi-spectral SAR data for improving the retrieval and mapping of the identified bio-/geo-physical parameters.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
