This document is an iterative report including the experimental sessions and the in vivo validation in acute protocols performed as soon as a component/module/submodule of the SensorART platform was available in a pre-definitive/definitive form to respect the ethical issues and limits for animal use in experimental research. The activities, carried on within D11.2 and reported in this first release, were aimed at testing the Synergy Circulite® Micropump as both left and right ventricular assistance. Experiments were also focused on checking surgical procedures, signal acquisitions, device-recipient interactions. Acute experiments for left ventricular assistance were carried out both at CNR in Pisa and at KULeuven-CS, experiments for right ventricular assistance were carried out at KULeuven. Some of the experiments on pigs in Pisa were performed in cooperation with em-tec in order to test the CircuLite Synergy pump system modified with the integrated implantable flow sensor. Aim of these experiments was to demonstrate the feasibility of the integration of flow measurement in the LVAD and its testing "in vivo".

Abstract
Aim of these experiments was to demonstrate the feasibility of the integration of flow measurement in the LVAD and its testing "in vivo".I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
