The report describes the benchmark between the two f.e.m. codes OPERA and COMSOL in modelling the negative ion source and accelerator NITS (Negative Ion Te st Stand) located in QST lab (formerly JAEA) at Naka (Japan) . The experiments have been carried out in the framework of the RFX - QST collaboration regarding the development and testing of new magnetic configurations for accelerators of negative ion based n eutral beam injectors.
