Building upon the raised issues including: 1. Insufficiency of material revenues in covering the recyclers' total costs and the increased turbulence of the business (Recyclers can and should turn into service fee revenues for covering the overhead costs). 2. Thus, recyclers are willing to innovate their business model to service-oriented business models, however, has not yet been reflected sufficiently in the recycling industry. 3. The reflection of new service-oriented business models is relevant and critical especially in the waste of electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) industry as one of the fastest growing manufacturing sectors, with high and increasing demand for technological innovation, shortened technology lifecycles and increasing and enormous volume of waste. Thus, the objectives of this report (D1.1) is to introduce possible service-oriented business models for WEEE. In particular, we introduce the following service-oriented business models, based on the prior documented reports and studies: 1. Reconfiguration service-oriented business model 2. Take-Back service-oriented business model 3. Competence-based service-oriented business model 4. Public recognition of the WEEE recycling waste service-oriented business model
